Aircel brings Peek e-mail device to India

While Peek is still fighting to become a permanent secondary device in US and Europe, Aircel has introduced this e-mail only device in India. To give you a gist, Peek is a QWERTY device that only does e-mail and supports push e-mail, view and download attachments, office docs support, security lock and enhanced battery life.
The feature set is not an issue but do you really want to lug a second device with you when your everyday smartphone can do it, in addition to provide more features? Heck, if you’re such an e-mail addict why not buy a Blackberry and hook it up with BB Personal Mail service that has the same monthly charges and also gives IM support.
Anyways, Peek will work only on Aircel, costs Rs. 2,999 initially and will have Rs. 299 as monthly charges.

the PEEK of aircel is a total useless set as it can not open excel files/pdf files including scanned pdf files.Aircel advertises on it’s site that it can open all microsoft office file including PDF and All types of photo files,But the fact is totally different. My fight with AIRCEL is still on on this.what is the fun when you can not open your attachments in a device dedicated for email. then how the device is better than sms of any other mobile???????
Thoroughly useless set.
