Even though Arrington had planned to go official with the Crunchpad in late July / early August, Fusion Garage, makers of Crunchpad have spilled the beans to a Singaporean newspaper. The Crunchpad is expected to be on retail shelves in November to gain from the holiday buying season.
For the uninitiated, Crunchpad is a tablet PC that boots in the browser and has a single aim – to give users quick access to internet. It will sport a 12-inch capacitive touchscreen display and powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB RAM. It will also have a USB port to connect keyboard or mouse and is said to carry Wi-Fi, 3G and optional mobile broadband slot. The new specs doesn’t say anything about the internal memory but the previous leaks have claimed about 4GB of internal memory.
The price will hover around $399.
