Acer Android netbook

It looks like we have got an answer to why companies are lured by an Android based netbook. Apparently, it’s the instant-on features in addition to enjoying connectivity options. As a proof of concept, Acer showed up an Atom powered D250 with Android. PC Watch was at hand to check out the boot and shut down times. The result? The netbook boots up in under 18 seconds and shuts down in just 2 seconds. Impressive.

Now I can see some serious problems cropping up for Windows XP. Android is free, faster than XP and it makes a netbook work for what it is known for.
