Samsung has released a 3.5-inch STORY Station external HDD that aims to handle user’s data needs in a secure and eco-friendly way. The drive which comes in a brushed aluminum casing integrates three key features – Auto Backup, Secret Zone and SafetyKey.

The Auto Backup backs up data at prescheduled intervals while SafetyKey allows to set a password for the backed up files. The Secret Zone is a hideout for the files which creates a virtual encrypted drive inside the HDD. STORY Station also boasts power saving capability by going into standby mode after five minutes of inactivity.

Samsung has not disclosed the price but the drive will first come in May to Europe in 500GB/1TB/1.5TB capacities.
