This one’s strictly for our Japanese friends. NTT is selling an earthquake warning device, Urgent Earthquake News Flash FLET’S Type that will send quake alerts to the subscribers. When an alert will be issued by the Japan Meteorological Agency, NTT’s Urgent Earthquake Bulletin service will relay the message on the subscriber’s computer screen. The alert will also show estimated seismic intensity and a countdown to the earthquake. The device also features flashing LED lights and an alarm just in case, you’re away from your computer screen.
The Urgent Bulletin Service will cost JPY 525 (USD 6) , add JPY 9,500 (USD 105) for the device and JPY 147 (USD 2) for monthly maintenance.
