All those phones in Japan which we used to ogle till now can be ours for real. NTT DOCOMO has announced that they’ll offer to officially unlock all the new devices for a nominal fee. Customers buying any phone launched after April 1, 2011 will be eligible to have the phone’s SIM lock removed for a fee of 3,150 yen.

This is great news for consumers who want to use their DOCOMO handset overseas without paying hefty roaming charges or import one to become our peers’ envy with a 3D screen, megapixels galore etc.
