DoCoMo and KTF to launch Android phone next year

Business newspaper, Nikkei is reporting that DoCoMo and KTF are readying an Android powered phone to cater to the customers in Japan and South Korea. According to them, DoCoMo and KTF have jointly started purchasing phones in order to maximize the economies of scale.

DoCoMo’s keeping mum on the news but one confirmation has come from them is in respect of price. DoCoMo’s Android phone will be 20% cheaper than the smartphones currently available in the market since it won’t carry any software development costs.
