Ubisoft will take forward the Assassin’s Creed series with the Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Developed by Ubisoft Québec, the Assassin’s Creed Shadows will take place in 16th century Japan where players will be able to play with two protagonists – Naoe and Yasuke. Naoe is a shinobi Assassin from the Iga Province that relies on stealth while Yasuke is a powerful samurai who uses brute force.
With two central characters, Ubisoft says players can master two complementary playstyles and will bring their own progression paths, skills, weapon options, and stats.
The Shadows will be an open-world game with evolving weather and seasons and will showcase a feudal Japan with sprawling castle towns, bustling ports, peaceful shrines and pastoral landscapes.
The game also promises renewed exploration mechanics that will enable gamers to build their own spy network to unveil new areas and targets; ally with NPCs that boast highly specialised skills and abilities and the creation of a customisable hideout that will enable players to enhance their network and train their new crew.
The Assassin’s Creed Shadows releases on November 15 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Luna, Apple Macs and Windows. If you subscribe to Ubisoft+ subscription, you will be able to play the game three days early on November 12.
