Amazon introduces Smart Plug in India

Amazon Smart Plug

Smart plugs as a concept have existed since for years now and Amazon is throwing their hat in the ring with their own Smart Plug version. However, unlike many other Smart Plugs in the market, the Amazon Smart Plug understandably supports Alexa only and not Google Assistant.

The 6A plug is designed with a 3-pin Indian socket design and requires the Alexa app to set it up and make any home appliance or a connected device smart.

The Alexa app also allows the Smart Plug to automate some tasks like turning on the lights at a particular time every day or even control them remotely while you are sitting in another room.

Amazon is currently selling the Smart Plug in India for Rs. 1,999 but if you are okay with other brands, you can get those plugs at virtually the same price or cheaper with the added support of Google Assistant.
