Amazon today announced the availability of its latest Echo device – Echo Auto. As the name suggests, the new Echo works in the cars, giving users the freedom to use Alexa functionality while they are in the car.
Echo Auto is powered by the car’s 12V charging socket or USB port with the audio connected to the car stereo system using a 3.5mm auxiliary cable or Bluetooth connection. To get you the responses, Echo Auto connects to the Alexa app on the user’s smartphone and uses existing data plan.
Just like every other Echo device, the Echo Auto can also be used to hear morning news, listen to an Audible book or even ask for directions or places of interest. Users can even make hands-free calls and if you use Android, users will also be able to send text messages.
The Echo Auto is now on pre-order for Rs. 4,999 and will ship from January 15.
