Motorola RAZR is back from 2004, reincarnated as an Android smartphone with dual screens. The new Motorola RAZR is the first phone to use clamshell-style flexible display folding itself without leaving a crease at the center which Motorola calls a zero-gap hinge. Motorola tested over 20 different prototypes during its consumer research phases to arrive at the clamshell design. Recently, Samsung launched its Galaxy Fold smartphone that folds horizontally and when opened up reveals a large screen like a tablet.
Made out of stainless steel and 3D Gorilla Glass, the outer shell of the phone is protective yet premium. Motorola has architected an industry first, a patent-protected zero-gap hinge that allows both sides of the customized polymer flexible display system to remain perfectly flush when closed and protects the display from debris and dust. The new RAZR is also water-resistant and splash-proof.
The Motorola RAZR features a 2.7-inch front screen that is visible when closed. This screen displays quick information and can be used to make calls, reply to messages, controlling music, using Google Assistant, taking selfies and more. The main screen of the phone when opened is a 6.2-inch Flex View display with a 21:9 aspect ratio.
The RAZR is powered by Snapdragon 710 processor, 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone has a main camera of 16-megapixel and the selfie camera is 5-megapixel. The battery in the phone is 2150mAh and it supports 15W Turbo Power charging. The phone uses a Type C USB port for charing. Motorola RAZR comes in only Noir Black colour. One of the interesting things about this phone is that it only uses eSIM. The phone has been announced in the US and will be available from January. The retail price in the US is USD 1500, which is around Rs. 1,07,000. The India page of the phone is already live and it will be launching here soon.
