Xiaomi launches Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Pro in India

Every 1 smartphone out of 3 in India is of Xiaomi brand. This goes to testify the fact that the Chinese manufacturer has gained a good market share in India and knows what the Indian consumers want in a value-for-money phone. As we had mentioned few days back that Xiaomi would be bringing the Redmi 6 series in India. Today Xiaomi announced the Redmi 6A, Redmi 6 and the Redmi Pro phones.

Targeted towards entry level buyers, the Redmi 6A is an upgrade to the Redmi 5A phone. The new phone comes with 5.45-inch full HD+ display and offers 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by MediaTek A22 processor and comes in 2GB/16GB and 3GB/32GB variant. The phone features face-unlock. This is also a dual-VoLTE phone. The camera at the rear is 13-megapixel with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF). The selfie camera is 5-megapixel. The camera also features AI portrait and AI beautify. For video recording, the Redmi 6A comes with Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS).  The phone has a 3000mAh battery and will run Android Oreo 8.1, however, Xiaomi has confirmed that the phone will also receive the MIUI 10 update. The price of 2GB/16GB variant is Rs.  5,999 and 3GB/32GB variant will retail for Rs. 6,999. These are introductory special prices for first two months.  The phone will be available online on Amazon India and Mi website. Also it will be available at offline stores. The colour options of the phone are Gold, Black, Rose Gold and Blue.

Redmi 6

The middle variant in the series is the Redmi 6 phone. Redmi 6 also features 5.45-inch full HD+ screen with 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone features dual rear camera of 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel with large 1.25 micron pixels that allows more light into the sensor for better low-light photos. Like the Redmi 6A, this phone also comes with AI portrait selfie and EIS for video recording. The phone is powered by Mediatek P22 processor has 3GB RAM and comes in storage option of 32GB and 64GB. The battery is also 3000mAh and comes with fingerprint sensor and face unlock feature. The 3GB/32GB variant of the phone will retail for Rs. 7,999 and 3GB/64GB variant for Rs. 9,499. This phone will be available on Flipkart and Mi.com and also at offline stores. For the first sale, one can get Rs.500 off by using an HDFC bank card.

Redmi 6 Pro

Redmi 6 Pro

This is the flagship phone of the series. The Redmi 6 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 425 processor featuring a 5.84-inch full HD+ screen with notch display.  It has 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone is made of aluminium body and resembles like Xiaomi’s own Mi A2.  The camera setup is like the Redmi 6 phone, 12-megapixel (Sony IMX486 sensor) and 5-megapixel (Samsung sensor) dual rear camera with portrait mode and 5-megapixel front selfie camera. It also has EIS. The phone comes with dual-SIM support and additional microSD card slot supporting up to 256GB.  The phone has a massive 4000mAh battery, fingerprint sensor and face unlock feature. The Redmi 6 Pro comes in two variants, 3GB/32GB that will retail for Rs. 10,999 and 4GB/63GB that is priced at Rs. 12,999. The phone will be available on Mi.com and Amazon India on 11th September 12 noon. It will be coming soon to all Mi homes across the country and offline stores.
