Qualcomm has expanded its processor range in the 600 and 400 series mobile processors. The three new additions are the Snapdragon 632, 439 and 429. These new platforms boast efficient design and bring in better battery life, higher performance, enhanced graphics, and AI capabilities.
Snapdragon 632 supports 4K video capture, artificial intelligence, and fast LTE speeds—all with an affordable price tag. Built on advanced FinFET process technology, the Snapdragon 632 is designed to achieve 40% higher performance due to the combination of the Qualcomm Kryo 250 CPU and Qualcomm Adreno 506 GPU. Camera enthusiasts can benefit from either a single 24-megapixel single-camera or dual cameras at 13-megapixel each, while display resolutions can scale up to FHD+. For fast cellular speeds, the Snapdragon 632 also includes the X9 LTE modem, which supports LTE Advanced technologies like carrier aggregation.
The Snapdragon 439 and 429 caters to the price-sensitive mass market. Both platforms are equipped with artificial intelligence capabilities that enhance the camera, voice, and security experience. Built again with FinFET process technology, the Snapdragon 439 and 429 platforms are designed to improve CPU performance and power efficiency by 25%. They both feature X6 LTE modem that results in faster downloads, smoother video streams, and near seamless web browsing. Snapdragon 439 is equipped with an octa-core CPU and includes the Adreno 505 GPU whereas the Snapdragon 429 comes with an Adreno 504 GPU. Snapdragon 439 supports 21-megapixel single-camera and 8+8-megapixel dual-cameras along with support for FHD+ display, while the Snapdragon 429 includes 16-megapixel single-camera and 8+8-megapixel dual-cameras with HD+ display.
Devices running these SoCs will hit the market in the second half of this year.
