Most of the gaming laptops that are available in the market are powerful but the power is traded for its bulkiness. Thankfully, with Nvidia’s Max-Q, bulky gaming laptops will be a thing of the past.
Inspired by NASA’s Max-Q philosophy, Nvidia says the same philosophy when applied while designing gaming laptops will enable OEMs “to build laptops that are 3x thinner with up to 3x more performance of previous generation products”.
To put it in perspective, the future gaming laptop will be as thin as a MacBook Air but boast 70 percent better gaming performance.
With Max-Q, Nvidia can integrate their GeForce GTX 1060, 1070 or 1080 GPU based on Pascal architecture that promises top notch gaming performance and efficiency.
Asus’ ROG Zephyrus will be one of the first laptops to take advantage of Max-Q but Nvidia expects more partners to launch their respective products from June 27.
