Huawei at a press conference in China announced its foray into Internet of Things (IoT) devices for the smart home. Unlike other manufacturers who are building their own smart home appliances, Huawei wants to focus on its strength on developing the eco-system with their software support to companies. Initially only in China, they have tied up with Haier, BroadLink and many other companies to offer this interagation called HiLink.

The Huawei LiteOS will power these devices which can be controlled via Windows and Android OS.

Huawei has made the code open source and is working with partners to integrate the same in their devices.

On the second anniversary of Honor, Huawei also announced new wireless networking devices – Honor Router Pro & Honor Wi-Fi extender that features ‘HiLink inside’. Honor Router Pro is priced at 328RMB and the Honor Wi-Fi extender at 268RMB. The Honor Router Pro delivers speeds up to 1000Mbps.

Another interesting product they announced for entertainment is Honor Voice. With Honor Voice, you can give voice instructions to your TV and control the same like navigating to your favourite channel. The Honor Voice comes with a Remote as well that takes your voice commands. All you need to do is power up the Voice device and attach it to the TV via HDMI cable. The price and availability of the same is unknown.
