OnePlus today announced its latest smartphone after teasing it for the last couple of weeks. Unlike OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 where the main focus was on performance, OnePlus X tries to lure consumers with its design, which OnePlus reckons is “chic and powerful”.
There will be two OnePlus X variants available. The Onyx version boasts black glass on a metal bezel whereas the more premium Ceramic variant is crafted after a process of 25 days, which includes zirconia mold and fire-baked ceramic up to 1480ºC.
If you’re looking for performance, the OnePlus X won’t win any awards like their powerful One or 2 devices but the OnePlus X is no slouch either. It has a 5-inch AMOLED Full HD display, 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, 3GB RAM, 16GB storage with microSD card expansion slot and 4G LTE support.
It also comes with FM Radio, an Alert Slider (like the OnePlus 2), 13 megapixel ISOCELL main camera, an 8 megapixel front-facing camera, Hybrid SIM card slot and 2525mAh battery.
On the software side, the OnePlus X will run OxygenOS based on Android Lollipop.
The OnePlus X Onyx will be exclusively available on Amazon.in with an invite starting November 5 at Rs. 16,999. The limited Ceramic edition will be available with a Ceramic-specific invite starting November 24 at Rs. 22,999. The device will sell without the invites after a month.
