Make in India is India’s initiative to encourage local manufacturing instead of importing and Chinese smartphone manufacturer today announced their first ever smartphone to be produced in India – the Redmi 2 Prime.
The phone was produced at Foxconn’s facility based in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh and is in fact an enhanced version of Redmi 2 that comes with an upgraded RAM and storage of 2GB and 16GB respectively. Moreover, the phone features a 4.7-inch HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor, 4G Dual SIM connectivity and 8 megapixel camera. The phone sells now on Mi.com along with other online partners like Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon for Rs. 6,999.
