Whatsapp on Web goes live

UPDATE: Whatsapp has announced the service. Web client won’t work for iOS users as Whatsapp blames it to “Apple platform limitations.”

A leaked set of screenshots headed our way yesterday showing how Whatsapp will work on the web through a PC. Well, the link that gives access to the Whatsapp Web service is now accessible and it works only on Google Chrome.

~~Although the feature is not yet live on the mobile app, once activated,~~ users will be able to access Whatsapp Web by scanning the QR code from their Whatsapp-enabled smartphone to automatically login and send/receive messages from the browser.

Accessing Whatsapp from a device like PC other than the mobile device has been one of the most sought features for the world’s widely used messaging app.
