Samsung has developed a new Wi-Fi technology that enables really fast transmission speed compared to the existing Wi-Fi technologies. Samsung has developed a 60GHz Wi-Fi technology that increases the current transmission speed of 108MB per second to 575MB per second. In other words, a 1GB movie can be transferred in less than three seconds.
This five-fold speed increase of the 802.11ad standard is the result of Samsung’s ability to overcome the barrier of 60GHz’ weak penetration through walls by implementing millimeter-wave circuit design along with micro beam forming control technology that enhances the overall coverage of the wireless network.
Samsung expects first products to come out with this technology in 2015.
