Xiaomi’s Mi 3 phone will be sold again on Flipkart.com today. The phone will go on sale on 2PM and registered users will be the ones who’ll be eligible to buy the device. According to the company, over 100,000 users have registered for the sale. There will be up to 15,000 Mi 3 units up for grabs, which means an average of 7 buyers will have to fight for a single unit. The second batch of around 20,000 units were ‘sold out’ in 5 seconds, however, we wouldn’t term it as sold out as the devices were added to user’s account while the payment had to be done by the end of the day. We assume, Xiaomi and Flipkart will follow the same flow since that enabled the website to perform well without throwing random errors.
Flipkart advises registered users to log in to the site good 2 hours in advance to buy the device before it gets ‘sold out’ within seconds.
