Nintendo 3DS

UPDATE: The bottom touchscreen display measures 3.02-inches and has a third camera in the inner side in addition to the two for taking 3D pictures.

As we were promised, Nintendo has made its 3D portable gaming console official. Nintendo has decided to keep 3DS as the official name and though not all details were revealed, we do know a few things about it.

The Nintendo 3DS has a design similar to previous DS consoles but it has a 3.5-inch 3D screen on the top that does not require any glasses with a touchscreen display at the bottom. There’s an analog slide in addition to the D-pad, a 3D depth slider that apparently controls the amount of content to be shown in 3D, a motion and a gyro sensor and two cameras at the back to take 3D pictures. Additionally, the 3DS can play 3D movies and has Wi-Fi that automatically searches for Wi-Fi hotspots and can also communicate with other DSes.

As for the games, Nintendo has announced a list of publishers working on games for the 3DS. Some of the games include Kid Icarus, DJ Hero 3D, Kingdom Hearts 3D, Madden NFL, FIFA, DOA 3D, Metal Gear Solid etc.

We’ll update the article as soon as we gather more info.
