iphone-4g-leak1

The supposed next-gen iPhone leaked over the weekend has found its way out again and this time its bundled with some high quality pictures and analysis. Gizmodo has managed to score the iPhone 4G prototype and have revealed some new features. The iPhone 4G or HD will feature a front-facing camera, improved rear camera with flash, unspecified hi-res screen, micro SIM slot (just like the iPad), 16% larger battery and secondary mic, apparently for noise cancellation.

The design is obviously the talk here since it’s radically different from the previous generation iPhones. There are no tapering or curves, has separate volume buttons, glass-like rear surface and seams. You can view more pictures and even read their design analysis in detail over here.

While all these evidence point to the next iPhone, the unfolding of this event is somewhat worth noting. Given Apple’s history to keep unreleased products tightly held to its chests, the leak of its high profile device is surprising. And even if some leak happens – no matter how small it is –, Apple does its best to take down the source by releasing its powerful legal force against them. However, in this case, nothing has happened (at least till now), which indicates that either Apple did a controlled leak or Apple doesn’t care about it anymore since Steve Jobs will pull out a differently designed iPhone in June this year.
