AT&T sues LCD makers for fixing LCD panel prices

October 21, 2009 By Kinjal Sangoi

AT&T announced to file a lawsuit against LCD makers who were allegedly involved in the price-fixing of the LCD panels. The lawsuit was filed in District Court in San Francisco that included companies like LG Display, Samsung, Sharp, AU Optronics, Chunghwa Picture Tubes alleging them to run an international cartel to illegally fix, raise and maintain high prices of LCD panels.

AT&T is understandably pissed off since they claim to have bought 300 million phones for resale that drove the price high because of the high LCD panel prices.
