Nokia today unveiled its new mobile financial service dubbed as the Nokia Money. The disparity of 4 billion mobile phones and 1.6 billion bank accounts has made Nokia to provide basic financial services that can be accessed from mobile phones. Users will be able to do a lot of things like sending or receiving money that can be collected or deposited at Nokia Money agents, buy movie tickets, pay utility bills, recharge mobile accounts and more.
Nokia Money service will be operated in co-operation with Nokia invested Obopay, which is a global mobile payment solution. In fact, we think this service will work in a way like mChek and ngpay and the only novel factor are the agents.
Nokia is planning to show the service at the Nokia World on Sept 2 & 3 and will roll out gradually from early 2010.
