Oh yes, McNamee’s claim for Palm Pre last week was a bit blown up and Palm rightly turned it down. In a free writing prospectus filed with the SEC, Palm has agreed that the statement by the co-founder of Palm’s largest stakeholding company was exaggerated.
The statement in the second paragraph of the article that “not one” person who bought an Apple, Inc. iPhone on the first shipment date “will still be using an iPhone a month” after the two-year anniversary of that day is an exaggerated prediction of consumer behavior pattern and is withdrawn.
The whole list of clarifications and corrections is over here but McNamee hasn’t stopped yet. In the interview found in the filing, his new claim is about web browsing. He says it’s gonna be several times faster than today’s phones.
