Sony brings world’s thinnest LCD TV

Sony today proudly announced world’s lightest and thinnest LCD TV. The KDL-40ZX1 from the Bravia ZX1 series weighs 12.2kg and measures just 9.9mm thick. The TV’s anorexia figure is possible with the help of wireless media base. The transmission of the data between the base and the LCD is done on a frequency band of 5GHz. 40ZX1 is full HD ready but due to the wireless transmission, only 1080i can be viewed and 1080p quality videos need a wired HDMI input.

The media base can communicate easily within a distance of 20 metres and has 3 HDMI, USB, 2 Composite, 1 S-Video, Ethernet and VGA ports. The TV will be selling from November end for 490,000 Yen ($4500).
