LG Electronics and Philips have jointly produced a new TFT LCD screen for mobile phones which is the slimmest in the world. The 2″ QVGA screen has a resolution of 240×320 pixels and its thickness is just 1.3mm compared to the present screens available which varies between 1.9mm-2.9mm.
They believe that the implementation of this screen in the phones will enable phone manufacturers to break the 6.9mm barrier which is currently held by Samsung’s X820. The display will be exhibited today at the SID Mobile Displays 2006.
