Seagate has announced that it has shipped the world’s first high capacity hard drive for PC. The Seagate Barracuda 7200.8, which has 400 GB of space, which is more than enough for a normal PC user.
The Seagate Barracuda is also first to store 133 GB in a single disc platter, with three making up the drive. The dense discs also allows it to use less discs and less heads to make up the total capacity of the drive, which results in for faster performance and reliability. The Barracuda 7200.8 uses Seagate’s native Serial ATA interface technology with NCQ (native command queuing).
