Virgin Digital, a subsidiary webiste of Virgin Groups, has joined the online music war by joining Virgin Digital Service.
This service offer more than a million soundtracks and a compatibility of over 50 portable players. This service will also offer a digital music store, music club subscription service, streaming radio, digital music and portable device management tools.
The pricing for over a million available tracks are 99 cents each with licenses for playing, burning to CDs and downloading to portable devices. For consumers who prefer a greater level of music-access, the Virgin Digital Music Club is a subscription-based service for $7.99 per month and enables users to have unlimited access to over 100,000 albums.
Radio Free Virgin will also be integrated into the Virgin Digital service which will bring radio directly to the desktops. The new service also features a complete digital music management tool. Users can rip and encode CDs, import digital audio from a variety of sources, burn custom CDs, create playlists, transfer to over 50 portable-music devices etc. The service also includes ‘3-D browsing’, a Virgin Digital exclusive, that interconnects and cross links all relevant content including album credits and artist biographies.
