Cyanogen OS gets reincarnated as Lineage OS

The commercial arm headed by Steve Kondik, Cyanogen Inc. will be shutting its service on 31 December 2016. All the CynogenOS builds for phones till date will be available to download, however, the company has confirmed that they will not release any new nightly builds. But that does not mean the Cyanogen OS is done and dusted. The good news is and as the saying goes – there is always a light at the end of a tunnel, LineageOS will carry on the legacy of CyanogenMod.

The GitHub repository files are migrated to the new home, that is LineageOS.org. Android community and enthusiasts will be watching LineageOS and Cyanogen closely to what they shape in the coming months.
