You can text anyone if you have got someone’s mobile number but what if you wanted to send a lengthy wall of text? NoMyID solves the problem by allowing to send an email through their mobile number.
The app is simple to use that offers the option to email to anyone or use the number to chat with the contact. We found the interface to be a bit laggy but easy to use. The email compose window is inspired by Gmail app’s compose window and allows to even send attachments to the contact.
The email-to-phone basically works with the user sending an email to ‘phonenumber@nomyid.com’ and the app notifying the recipient of a message with an SMS. The only gripe we think is that the SMS does not show an excerpt of a message but directly shares the link to download the app or check the email on web with a generated password. This may seem good for the app’s user base but it’s not user-friendly.
Nevertheless, it’s a novel concept and you can try out the app by downloading it for free from Play Store or the App Store.
