Google kicked off the long I/O keynote with the announcement of Android One. The program aims to bring Android smartphone to the next billion consumers at a sub-$100 price. The program will basically include a hardware reference platform that small companies can take advantage of while the Android updates will be taken care by Google and reasonable data plans.
As part of this initiative, Google is currently working with Micromax and will have device with Dual SIM support, microSD card slot, 4.5-inch display, FM Radio and the latest version of Android.
The first Android One device will be released later this year. Google is also working with other companies like Karbonn and Spice.
