BlackBerry has announced that they’ve signed a licensing agreement with Amazon that will bring a choice of more than 240,000 Android apps to BlackBerry 10 devices through the Amazon Appstore.
The apps will be supported on Blackberry OS 10.3 when it launches later this fall.
While it was possible for users to run Android apps on BlackBerry 10 devices, sideloading wasn’t a convenient option. Amazon Appstore will enable users with easier management of apps, in addition to regular access to BlackBerry World.
BlackBerry has also confirmed to close down the music and video sections of the store on July 21st. However, users with existing content will be able to download it through MyWorld.
