Withings has upped the ante in the wearables arena with its Pulse O2 activity tracker. While many smartbands and watches are able to track the user’s heart rate, Pulse O2 goes a step further by measuring blood oxygen level via an optical lens and light on the back of the unit. Withings considers blood oxygen readings can prove critical to mountain climbers, athletes and people with breathing problems like asthma and other COPDs.
The Pulse O2 can be clipped to clothing or can be worn as a watch on the wrist and tracks users’ activity, sleep and even the heart rate.
Withings has also announced the revamp of its mobile app – Health Mate.
The Pulse O2 is available for $119.95.
