India-based Micromax made a surprising announcement of the LapTab this CES. The announcement is interesting to say the least because it is one of the first tablets from an Indian company to dual-boot a full fledged Windows 8 OS and Android Jelly Bean. Disappointingly, the current version ran Android 4.2.2 but according to Micromax, a the LapTab will be upgraded to the latest Android version.
Furthermore, there’s a 10.1-inch 1280×800 display, 1.46GHz Intel Celeron N2805 CPU, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal memory, a 2 megapixel camera on the front, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0, mini HDMI, 7400mAh battery and a snap-on Bluetooth cover with integrated keyboard.
Micromax hasn’t revealed the price but given the history of the company, we can expect them to price it aggressively.
The LapTab will launch in India next month followed by Russia.
