Indian consumers are really getting spoilt when it comes to smartphone choices. Last week, we got flagship devices from Samsung (Galaxy Note 3) and Sony Mobile (Xperia Z1) and now Nokia has come to the party with their flagship model – Lumia 1020. Nokia wowed the world with a 41MP camera sensor on a Symbian device few years back and building on the PureView technology is the new Lumia 1020.
Lumia 1020 is the world’s first Windows Phone to boast a 41MP camera sensor and complementing the Zeiss optics is the Nokia Pro Camera app that gives users advanced camera controls to take a perfect picture. Furthermore, there’s optical Image Stabilization (OIS) support, xenon flash, loss less full HD video recording and a front-facing 1.2MP wide angle camera.
If we were to consider its hardware and software prowess, the Lumia 1020 runs on the latest version of Windows Phone 8 OS and features a 4.5-inch AMOLED WXGA (1280×768) display, 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal memory, NFC, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, Wi-Fi, 2000mAh battery and wireless charging support.
The phone will be available from October 11 with the price to be announced prior to the launch. Interestingly, Nokia has revealed the price of the camera grip accessory and the wireless charging shell. The camera grip that adds extra battery, a dedicated camera button and a regular tripod mount will sell for Rs. 7,500 while the wireless charging case to go for Rs. 3,200.
