It could have been a perfect launch for BlackBerry’s much anticipated BBM service on Android and iOS but a last minute hiccup has made the company change their decision. Although, the app was available briefly in the iOS App Store for some countries, the app never made it to the Google Play Store but a leaked version was available before the launch, which apparently caused all the delay.
BlackBerry says about 1.1 million users were active from the leaked app while they worked to address the issue.
However, the current status is that those users who were able to download the BBM for iPhone app will be able to use it while the leaked Android app will be disabled.
BlackBerry hasn’t revealed the schedule this time but will plan a country-wise rollout when they’re ready.
