Global smartphone manufacturers are sprucing up the competition in India. Samsung yesterday announced its plans to launch the Galaxy Note 3 (and the Galaxy Gear smartwatch) later this month and today Sony has announced their Xperia Z1 flagship phone. The new Xperia Z1 undercuts Galaxy Note 3’s price by Rs. 5,000 with the final price pegged at Rs. 44,990.
Xperia Z1 boasts the same OmniBalance design and adheres to IP55 and IP58 standard making it waterproof and dust resistant. On the hardware side, the Android 4.2 running Xperia Z1 features Snadragon 800 with 2.2GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB RAM, 5-inch full HD display, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, FM Radio, 16GB internal memory with microSD card slot supporting up to 64GB and 3000mAh battery.
The camera is the most important hardware in the Xperia Z1 that boasts a 27mm wide angle f2.0 G lens with 1/2.3-type CMOS Exmor RS sensor, BIONZ imaging processor and can shoot images at up to 20.7MP resolution.
Xperia Z1 is available in retail stores from today.
