Shortly after Apple’s invitation, Google’s Sundar Pichai’s tweet has sent everyone in a tizzy. The tweet confirms one billion Android activations and shows a KitKat statue, which interestingly is also the name of upcoming Android version. Yes, the next Android 4.4 version will be known as KitKat and not Key Lime Pie as previously believed.
The name is interesting because it is the first time a trademarked name is being used as a codename for the Android OS. While Google isn’t revealing any new details except the name, Google does promise “KitKat to make an amazing Android experience available for everybody.”
We now have over 1 Billion Android activations and hope this guy in front of the building keeps that momentum going pic.twitter.com/V0VovgmObl
