In a surprise move, Google has dropped the Nexus 4 price by 25 percent on its Google Play Store, which now starts from $199 for the 8GB variant and $299 for 16GB in US. The price cut is also applicable for consumers buying in Australia, Canada, Germany, France, Spain, Korea, UK if they purchase the device from the Play Store.
The price cut is not applicable for countries where LG sells directly, which means India won’t get the discounted price yet. We’ve reached LG for a comment and we’ll update as soon as we hear something.
This is definitely good news for consumers as it gives a good Android experience at an affordable asking price (our review). However, a price cut to the current generation model also suggests Google is readying to release the next-generation Nexus smartphone.
