Rise of Android and iOS led to the surge of full touch devices and drastically reduced the demand of devices with flip form factor. Samsung is however, trying to bring the Android goodness in the dying form factor in countries like China and South Korea. They’ve announced the Galaxy Golden in its home market for consumers who don’t want to lose the features of Android but use a flip phone.
The Galaxy Golden is equipped with two 3.7-inch AMOLED WVGA displays, 1.7GHz dual-core processor, LTE support, 8MP camera and front-facing 1.9MP, FM Radio and 1820mAh battery. Furthermore, the phone runs Android 4.2 OS out of the box and is laden with TouchWiz UI and apps like S Health, business card reader, Easy Mode.
Galaxy Golden will sell on SKT and KT in champagne gold hue (tsk tsk, iPhone!) for 799,700 won.
