Most mobile phone manufacturers claim their devices are durable enough to survive the hardest of falls but when you invest $500+ in a device, you don’t want to put their claim to test, unless you do it deliberately on a video. Today, we take a look at the Otterbox case for Galaxy S III that promises an all-round protection to Samsung’s largest selling Galaxy S device.
Otterbox has a solid line up of cases for the Galaxy S III and is segregated under Armor, Defender, Commuter, Prefix, Reflex and Clearly protected series. The one we are reviewing here is the Defender series case.
The Defender series case features a screen protector, polycarbonate inner layer, silicone outer layer and Belt-clip holster. Installation of the case is pretty simple, just place the phone in the inner layer, close it with the screen protector and cover it with the silicone outer layer. Good thing about this case is that it offers total protection even to the ports via cleanly recessed cut-outs. The case comes in a combination of two colours, we have reviewed the white-gray colour which looks pretty decent.
The belt-clip holster is also a good add-on and though not many people now like to keep the phone in the holster, it still offers good protection and easy accessibility for people who want to use their phone more frequently and are on the move.
To personalise the case, Otterbox offers consumers to select the colour, design and other parameters online. The personalized case will set you back by $59.95 and the regular defender case goes for $49.95.
