Samsung announced their cheaper quad-core phone known as Galaxy Grand Quattro yesterday and India-based Lava today tries to one up the Korean giant’s offering by announcing a similarly spec’d phone at almost half the price.
For an asking price of just Rs. 8,999, the Iris 458 features a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and runs Android 4.2. Although, the RAM and ROM are measly 512MB and 4GB respectively, Lava tries to make up on other fronts like the 4.5-inch FWVGA display, an 8MP auto focus camera, front-facing VGA camera, microSD card slot and pre-loaded apps like WeChat, push email and an ebook reader.
