HTC adopted the “Quietly Brilliant” tag few years back and now the Taiwanese company is all set to shed its humble tag as it prepares to fight with Samsung and Apple. HTC’s new tone and strategy is quite evident as the company is trying to grab every opportunity to market its upcoming flagship device – the most recent was during Samsung’s Galaxy S4 launch where HTC distributed water and chips to media waiting in line.
Benjamin Ho, HTC’s CMO told WSJ that the company will go out all guns blazing on the marketing front with digital marketing spend budgeted to be 250 percent more than last year and traditional media marketing spending up by 100 percent.
Finally, Mr. Ho also confirmed the delay of the One shipment, which is due to the camera as it was specifically designed for HTC, therefore, could not ramp up the production quickly.
