Fujitsu today announced their first Android smartphone meant for the European market. It’s the STYLISTIC S01, which is a modified Raku-Raku handset available in Japan and is targeted at senior citizens. The phone will be available in France through Orange and comes with features like touchscreen display that can give a tactile sensation of pressing a physical button, extra-large icons with a simpler user interface, audio technology that optimizes the frequency range base on user’s age and slows down the speech of callers if they “speak rapidly without lowering the pitch of their voice or changing the length of the conversation.”
Internally, it’s an Android smartphone that runs Android 4.0 OS and comes with Snapdragon S2 MSM8255 1.4GHz processor, 4-inch WVGA display, 8.1MP and VGA cameras, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 4GB internal memory, microSD card slot and 1800mAh battery. The phone is also dust and water resistant.
STYLISTIC S01 will be on showcase at MWC later this month.
