HTC on their official blog has posted an infographic highlighting the breakthroughs in the photography technology over the last 150+ years. But the interesting part is at the end of the infographic that promises to offer a new “sound and camera experience” in 2013. HTC is understandably playing coy but according to a rumour from last night, HTC could unveil a new concept called Ultrapixels.
The new tech will apparently be found in HTC’s upcoming M7 phone and will combine three 4.3 megapixel sensor layers that will produce a single image, resulting in a cleaner and a sharper lossless image. To put it into perspective, the implementation will be more or less similar to Nokia’s 808 PureView.
Ultrapixels or not, HTC will unveil the M7 smartphone at an event in London on February 19.
