Apple has started selling unlocked iPhone 5 devices in its home market. The phone, until now, was sold on contract through different carriers but for consumers who don’t want to sign the dotted line can grab Apple’s latest GSM-based smartphone from $649 for 16GB. Apple is also selling the 32GB variant for $749 and 64GB for $849.
The converted price is obviously cheaper than the price at which Apple India sells the iPhone 5 but the biggest tradeoff with the cheaper price tag is no warranty in India.
