Here’s something to whet your gaming appetite. The Verge reports that Microsoft is working on a 7-inch gaming tablet. According to their sources, the Xbox Surface tablet will be powered by a “custom ARM processor and a high-bandwidth RAM” and if we’re being optimistic, MIcrosoft might also integrate an unannounced Intel SoC.
Interestingly, the tablet is said to not run a full version of Windows but instead will feature a custom Windows kernel.
Microsoft’s taking on portable gaming would be interesting to see as nothing from the Windows front has really challenged the iOS or Android devices.
Razer’s Project Fiona dabbled with the concept but is yet to retail the device.
