Sony has halted sales of its first Xperia branded tablet due to a water resistance issue. The tablet that is supposed to be splash-proof was found having gaps between the screen and the case that allowed water to seep in and damage the internal components.
Sony spokeswoman Noriko Shoji said the occurrence was due to a manufacturing defect at a Chinese plant and have stopped selling the tablet until further notice.
Sony sold about 100,000 units in Europe, United States and Japan.
