Apple has confirmed that they’ve sold a whopping 2 million iPhone 5s in the first 24 hours of the pre-order sale. The number has shattered the record of its previous iPhone – iPhone 4S that sold a million and is the only smartphone to have crossed such a figure in a single day.
Although Apple won’t be able to fulfill all the pre-orders on Sep 21, most of the customers however, will receive the device on the launch day. The new iPhone 5 is thinner and lighter and sports a larger 4-inch display with Retina Display resolution support, iOS 6 OS, Apple A6 SoC, 8MP camera and lots more.
After the first wave of rollout, Apple will launch the iPhone 5 in 22 more countries on Sep 28.
